Teens Caught in the Act Smashing Mailboxes

The following arrest information was supplied by the White Lake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

White Lake Police received a call on June 25 reporting destruction of mailboxes near Farnsworth. One of the mailbox owners chased the car responsible down the street and was able to give police a description, according to the report.

Police arrived on the scene at 3:30 a.m. and located the vehicle. The driver of the car, a 19-year-old, told police he was responsible for knocking the mailboxes over, Chief Edward Harris said.

"He had at least two other female passengers in the car, but they ran into the wooded area when we arrived on the scene," Harris said.

Two home invasions in the township over the weekend

There were two reported home invasions in the township over the weekend, one on June 26, and another sometime between June 25 and June 27.

Harris said the first occurred on the 8000 block of Cooley Beach.

"Someone entered the home and took four televisions," Harris said.

The incident remains under investigation.

The second home invasion happened sometime between 2 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on June 26 on Applewood.
