Tires Taken From Car Parked in Driveway

The following information was supplied by the White Lake Township Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

White Lake Police were called to a home on the 8600 block of Elizabeth Lake Road Nov. 8 after a report that the homeowner returned from running errands to find the two rear wheel missing from a car in his driveway.

Lt. Adam Kline said the two rear wheels and rims were taken from a purple 1995 Chevy Beretta parked in the driveway. The car had been lifted on car jacks and the wheels were not secured to the vehicle, he said.

According to the report, the owner told police he had been working on the car and placed the car on jack stands. He left a 12:30 p.m. and returned at 4 p.m. to find the wheels missing.

There are no suspects at this time. The incident remains under investigation.

Purse taken from cart at Walmart

A woman told police she forgot her purse in her cart when she placed it in the cart return area in the parking lot on Nov. 8 at 12:48 p.m. When she realized she had left her purse, she returned to the cart return and found her purse was missing, according to the report.

Police obtained video surveillance from the store and viewed a male, female and two children walk up to the cart. The are seen on video watching the woman leave the parking lot. Kline said the man is then seen placing one of the children in the cart, over the purse. The couple is then seen returning to their car, an mid-sized vehicle, and leaving the area.

The man is described as a 5'8 male with a heavy build, weighing approximately 220 pounds. The female is a 5'5 female, also listed as a heavy build, weighing approximately 200 pounds.

Items in the stolen purse include identification, credit cards and a digital camera, according to the report.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 248-698-4400. The incident remains under investigation.
