Two Dogs Killed in White Lake Accident

Rear-end accident results in the death of two White Lake dogs.

Two White Lake residents were taken to the hospital for treatment after an accident in the township Tuesday that resulted in the death of two dogs.

According to Lt. Don Nankervis, a 35-year-old male was driving his GMC Envoy eastbound on M-59 near Ormond at 7:30 p.m. when he collided with the back of a Chrysler Town & Country van driven by a 52-year-old woman.

Nankervis said the woman had her two Newfoundland dogs in the back, and both dogs were killed in the accident.

Both the man and woman were treated for their injuries and released.

Nankervis said the accident remains under investigation. Blood was drawn from the man to test for alcohol prior to his release from the hospital.
