White Lake Kicks Off Prescription Drug Drop Off Program

The new prescription drug drop-off location will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Officials from White Lake and Oakland County gathered Tuesday afternoon for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the White Lake Police Department.

The department is now home to a new prescription drug drop off box. The box will be available to residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The box is part of a program started by the Oakland County Sheriff's office in 2009.

"We are very excited to have White Lake be a part of this program," Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said.

The prescription drug drop off box is in the lobby of the White Lake Township Police Department located on and M-59 near Porter Road.
