Woman Crashes Car Into Highland Business

The accident caused damage to a dance studio and pizza place.

Nobody was injured when a 53-year-old Highland woman crashed her car into Modern Messages Dance Company on Monday.

According to a Highland Township police report, the woman drove her SUV into the business at 2336 E. Highland Road around 7 p.m. Monday evening.

Building owner Bill Pousho told the Observer & Eccentric that the driver told him she meant to hit the brake but mistakenly hit the accelerator instead.

Pousho said the crash damaged part of the dance studio and the bathroom of the neighboring Marco's Pizza. He estimates the repair work will cost thousands of dollars, according to the Observer & Eccentric.

Pousho did not appear to be angry about the accident.

“I told her it it can be fixed — and then I joked that it needed a paint job anyway. What are you going to do? You can’t yell at her for it," he told the Observer.

According to the police report, the car was towed from the scene.
