Library Offers 'Food for Fines' Through Jan. 21

White Lake Township Library has extended its Food for Fines program through this Saturday, Jan. 21.

For every canned good a patron brings in, $1 of fines will be forgiven. However, the library can only forgive fines incurred at the library for their own items, not items from other libraries. But owing fines isn't a condition for donating: if you simply want to give canned foods to the library, you can do so.

All donations will go to Open Door Outreach Center, a Waterford-based charity founded by St. Patrick Catholic Church in White Lake, that has been providing food and clothing to the community for 30 years.
