Highland Supervisor to Hold Dialogue with Local Business Owners

Are you a business located in Highland? If so, you're invited to the Highland Township Business Roundtable Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. at 59 West in Highland.

Highland Supervisor Rick Hamill said he wants to change the business climate in Highland, and he's starting Jan. 29 with a business roundtable.

More than 400 Highland businesses were sent invitations for the event that will be held at 59 West in Highland.

"I want to have an open dialogue with businesses," Hamill said. "I want to have the opportunity to share with them the township ordinances and explain what they do and why they are necessary, then allow the businesses to give me and other township officials feedback on what they feel needs to be changed."

Hamill said he hopes this dialogue will be the start of an improved relationship between the township and local business.

"I want to improve the business environment here, and do what I can as Supervisor to help attract new businesses to the area," Hamill said.

The invitation to the event states. "This is your opportunity to be actively involved in setting the guidelines for building successful and profitable businesses in Highland. Participation is strictly voluntary and will benefit every business owner."

The event will start a 6 p.m. Jan. 29 at 59 West located at 786 West Highland Road.
