Highland Township to Meet Monday to Discuss Highland Middle School Acquisition

The Highland Township Board of Trustees is holding a special board meeting tonight, Monday, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the purchase of the vacant Highland Middle School building.

The Highland Township Board of Trustees is expected to meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m., at 205 N. John Street, to discuss the acquisition of real estate.

Trustee Brian Howe said on his public Facebook page that the township will, in fact, be discussing the vacant Highland Middle School building.

The township board has until Dec. 4. to decide if they want to purchase the building from the Huron Valley School District. After Dec. 4, the Huron Valley Schools Board of Education will likely follow through on plans to demolish the building. According to school officials, the school board is taking request for bids for the demolition of Highland Middle School and Baker Elementary (Milford).
