Three White Lake Officials File For Re-election

The filing deadline isn't until May 15, but three current township board members have already filed for reelection.

White Lake Township Treasurer Jay Brendel and trustees Carol Burkard and Todd Birkle have all filed for reelection to their current positions. They are the first three to do so for the open seats on the White Lake Township Board of Trustees.

Brendel was appointed to his position in 2010 after Beverly Spoor left the position. This will be his first run for treasurer.

Both Birkle and Burkard have served on the board as trustees for a number of years. Burkard said she was excited to run again as trustee.

"I contemplated about running for one of the full-time positions, but I really do enjoy being a trustee," Burkard said. "I'm looking forward to the election."

Birkle told the Spinal Column Newsweekly that he filed early because he wanted to show the residents that he is serious about reelection, "I’ve enjoyed serving the citizens of White Lake," he said.
