White Lake Shares New Green Master Plan

White Lake officials will share their Master Plan as part of the Green Sustainability program.

The following was submitted to White Lake Patch by the Highland Equestrian Land Conservancy.

White Lake Township is setting a new standard for going green with their new sustainable Master Plan. Oakland County is also sharing their new OakGreen program that helps businesses and residents to learn the tools of saving energy and dollars by implementing energy efficient practices.

Nina Ignaczak of OakGreen and Jason Iacoangeli of White Lake Township Planning will be speakers at the Green Sustainability meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27 at the Highland Station House in downtown Highland. The Highland Equestrian Land Conservancy will be hosting the event.

"We're creating a vibrant community of choice where people want to live work and play," Iacoangeli said. "This is an opportunity for residents, businesses and other township officials and DDA's to see the plan and to ask questions."

"Oakland County Planning and Economic Development is working to provide communities with tools they can use to become more sustainable," offered Ignaczak. She will be providing details at the meeting about the OakGreen Challenge where local residents can be eligible to win up to $1500 in utility fee reimbursements.

The Highland Equestrian Land Conservancy is providing a special hors d’oeuvre reception before the meeting begins. There is also a $2 donation at the door.
