Brooke Elementary BPTO Meeting

All parents are welcome to attend the Brooks Elementary BPTO meeting in the wellness room. The agenda is listed below. If you have anything you would like brought up or comments and cannot attend, please contact Lori Brannock at plbrannock@comcast.net. Hope to see you there!

1. Old Business

  • Sparkies Night - $275 profit, they sent a check for $300.00
  • Reptile Assembly - Big Success
  • Valentine's Day Teacher Appreciation Luncheon - Nichole Slating handling
  • McDonald's Night - 2/16     5-7 p.m.

2. New Business

  • Sky Box Trivia Night?
  • Shamrock Ball? - Shamrocks & Shenanigans?  Bobcat Ball? - 3/16 6-8

             A. 3rd Grade - Shannon Leece, Kim Przeworski, Nichole Slating, Robbin Werth

             B. $1.00 admission

             C. $1.00 pizza, $.50 water

             D. Chips, pens, pencils, etc.

             E. Dancing, games in art room, cupcake/cookie walk, shamrocks cut out by 5th grade, small shamrocks cut by Mary Beth

  • Book Exchange - 3/1 & 3/29 - Dee Stoddard is handling

              A. Kids bring in books M-W, swap on Thursday

              B. Denise bringing in boxes for  each grade

              C. Student council will pick up books in each classroom & deliver to wellness room

              D. Shannon, Mary Beth, Denise, Star, & Sue will sort books & make sure they are ready for swap

              E. Teachers will track how many books each student brings in & can swap out

              F. Students can bring in 5 books per student

3. Treasurer Report

  • Did we get Kohl's check from MM?
  • What happened with NSF checks?
  • $6400 available through end of the year

               A. Install projectors?

               B. Speakers?

               C. Teacher workshops?

               D. Kindergarten literacy library?

               E. Kindergarten roundup packet?

4.     Yearbooks? 

  • Who does them?
  • 5th graders?
  • How are they selected?
  • Why are they still $15?
  • Happy ads?

5. Labels for Education - Holly ordered items discussed

6. Elections - Send out Listserv so people can see what's involved and decide if they want to participate in PTO Board next year
