The following is a press release from the Huron Valley School District.

The Huron Valley Board of Education voted 6-0 Thursday, March 1, to appoint Jim Baker, Executive Director of Human Resources, as interim superintendent effective May 1, 2012.

Board members appointed Baker following the resignation of current Superintendent Jackie Johnston, who has accepted the same position with L’Anse Creuse Public Schools.

HVS Board President Sean Carlson reiterated the board’s desire to appoint a member of the Superintendent’s Central Office Administrative Team in order to allow a smooth transition from Superintendent Johnston to Interim Superintendent Baker. Superintendent Johnston’s administrative team is made up of Baker, Deputy Superintendent Nancy Coratti, Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services Donna Welch and Kim Root, Director of Communications and Community Relations.
