Lakeland Needs Help With Toys for Tots

The school needs donations of wrapping paper and decorations to help make this year's event a success.

As the weather turns colder outside, we start to look towards the winter season and here at Lakeland that means it must be time for our annual Toys for Tots Holiday Party for Handicapped Children. Our party this year is Dec. 13, 2012 and we are in need of a few items to help make the party a success. If you have any old holiday decorations that you no longer need, we would be more then happy to take them off your hands. We are also looking for donations of holiday wrapping paper. These donations can be dropped off anytime here at Lakeland in the main office from 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

For the luncheon part of the party itself we are looking for nut free snacks (cookies, brownies, etc), bottled water, and pop (all kinds, perfer Coke products due to contract here in the building). All of these food donations can be dropped off at the Lakeland Main Office starting Dec. 10. Thank you so much!

Lakeland is also hosting its annual Holiday Food Drive for the White Lake Goodfellows. This food drive will be here at Lakeland Nov. 12-16. We are collecting all types of non-perishable food items. We are also having a class competition in 1st hour classes to see what class has the most food. This class will win a breakfast party from the Leadership class. Our goal this year is 10,000 pieces of food, which will break a school record for the food drive. For this drive we are in need of food, and boxes. We are looking for empty boxes about the size of a copy paper box. Any box will do though in the end. These boxes can be dropped off at Lakeland any time now between the hours of 7 a.m.-3 p.m.
