Lakeland Releases Parking Rules for 2012-2013 School Year

Do you have a high school student planning to drive to school at Lakeland? If so, here's what you need to know.

The following is from Lakeland Associate Principal Marc Kay.

There have been several questions in regards to parking sign up at registration so here are the ground rules:

  1. No parking will be sold prior to registration day for any reason.
  2. Students only need to bring the parking registration form with their parking fee. Please remember that all cars need to be insured and students must have valid driver's licenses.
  3. To purchase a parking permit, students must have had above a 2.0 GPA for the sixth marking period of the 2011-2012 school year and must be current in their credits.  Students who do not meet these requirements will not be able to purchase a parking pass.
  4. Internships do not automatically mean that a student will receive a parking pass if they do not qualify for the pass.
  5. Students who are school of choice do not have any type of priority for parking.
  6. If a student is in OTC or Internship, they must check that on the registration form. Students who do not do this and are not in the proper parking area run the risk of losing their parking if there are no spaces in the appropriate section of the parking lot.
  7. Please read the rules and consequences clearly listed on the registration form prior to purchasing the space especially in regards to tardies and minimum grade point average.
