Newly Elected Board Members Sworn In At District Meeting

The Huron Valley Schools Board of Education welcomed it's two newest members Thursday.

Newly board member Jeff Long and Bonnie Brown were official sworn in at Thursday night's Board of Education meeting at .

Brown, an incumbent, served on the board last year after being appointed to her seat following the resignation of former board memer Debbie Squires, but said Thursday she was very grateful to be elected, "Thank you, thank you," she said to the audience and voters.

Long also thanked the voters and his family before taking his seat on the board.

Both Brown and Long were elected in November.

Other items discussed at the meeting was the purchase of a new special education bus for approximately $88,000. The funds will come out of the general fund because the board already purchased 7 new buses using bond money last year, and there was not enough left to purchase the eighth bus.

The board will meet again Jan. 23 for a board dialogue. Board dialogues are open to the public.
