School: Recent graduate of Lakewood Elementary
Accomplishment: A champion swimmer, Emma has competed all across the country in swim competitions. She's a hard worked both in the pool, and in the classroom.

Key to Awesomeness: Earlier this year Emma competed at the state championships for USA sanctioned swimming and took home the individual title in the 100-meter butterfly in Zeeland. She also placed among the top six finishers in her age group in five other events—the 100 backstroke, 100 individual medley (IM), 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 50 butterfly. Emma finished fifth overall among all the participants. In an on White Lake Patch, she is described as a model student. Lakewood Principal Julie Bedford said, “Emma is a child after my own heart. She has the strength, conviction, determination and athletic ability to go far in her swimming, and ultimately in life. I cannot wait to read all about her successes as she makes her way through life.”
