Key to Awesomeness: The team consists of students from Lakeland and Milford High Schools along with the International Academy. Together they build a robot with the assistance of mentors from General Motors and the Huron Valley School District at the GM Proving Grounds in Milford. According to their nominator, the HOT Team has won more awards than any other team in the 20-year history of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and for the past two years has been world champions. The team took a silver medal at the West Michigan District Competition this past weekend, and members fully expect to be competitive for the World Championship in April in St. Louis. These kids ROCK!
