School Board to Meet Monday, Tuesday This Week

The Huron Valley Schools Board of Education will hold their regular meeting Monday, Jan. 14, and have a special meeting Tuesday, Jan. 15, to discuss the vacant buildings issue.

The Huron Valley Schools Board of Education will be at 7 p.m. at Lakeland High School Monday, Jan. 14.

The board is expected to swear in its two newly elected officials - incumbent Lisa Blackwell and newcomer Beth Lewis.

  • Asbestos abatement for Highland Middle School and Baker Elementary.
  • A student leadership presentation from Heritage Elementary.
  • A donation from Reaching Higher and a donation to Muir Middle School.
  • A presentation on the LHS Virtual Enterprises International Program.

The board will meet again Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Lakeland High School at 7 p.m. to discuss any offers made for the vacant Highland Middle School and Baker Elementary school buildings.

Jan. 15 was the deadline given by the board in December for anyone interested in making offers for the spaces.
