Video: Brooks Book Mobile Kicks Off at Leo's Coney Island

In an effort to keep kids reading during the summer, Brooks Elementary teachers tour local neighborhoods and exchange books with students.

The Book Mobile kicked off on Wednesday with its first stop at Island in White Lake.

The Book Mobile, started three years ago by teacher Carrie Farnum, allows kids to take home a bag of books at the end of the school year and then trade them in throughout the summer for new books.

Kids who read and fill out their Book Mobile ice cream scoops bookmark were also treated to a free ice cream treat at Leo's.
