Viewfinder: Highland Middle School's Forever Scot Celebration

At the end of this school year, Highland Middle School will close its doors for good.

The Highland Middle School Forever Scot Celebration drew a huge crowd Thursday to celebrate the legacy of 75 years of teaching and learning.

Students, both present and past, joined staff members and parents in a night filled with memories, food, fun and entertainment. 

Former student Howard Armstrong celebrated on his 87th birthday his 8th-grade graduation that took place on May 20, 1938.

Carol Hayden who attended all day kindergarten during the 1944-1945 school year shared memories with long time friend Dan Aldrich who was in 1st-grade in 1941.

Former art teacher Larry Cece was added to the Wall of Honor in a special ceremony before a standing room only crowd in the cafeteria.

Participants enjoyed hot dogs and ice cream while sharing memories with current, and former, students and teachers.
