Whiz Kid: Lakeland Gymnast Signs Letter of Intent

Gymnast Lindsay Offutt will attend the University of Pittsburgh in the fall on a full-ride scholarship.

Accomplishment: Offutt signed her National Letter of Intent to compete in gymnastics at the University of Pittsburgh. She has earned a full-ride athletic scholarship and will pursue a degree in Law or Sports Management.

Key to Awesomeness: Lakeland Athletics said, "Offut is a tremendous gymnast who continues to accomplish high levels of success. In 2008, 2009, and 2011 she participated on the Junior Olympic National Team. In 2008 and 2011, she p...articipated on the Region 5 All-Star Team which is considered the most competitive Region in the Country. Most recently, at the National Invitational Championship held in Long Beach California, she finished first in the (Floor) exercise competition."

Offut said, “The University of Pittsburgh is going to be a great fit. I like the coaches because they remind me of my coaches at Oakland Gymnastics. When I arrived on campus, it felt right.”
