Children's Appreciation Event at Kensington

Take the kids to any Metropark on Sunday, July 17 for outdoor fun as the Huron-Clinton Metroparks celebrate Children’s Appreciation Day.  

Metroparks are offering free use of selected facilities and special programs. A Metroparks vehicle entry permit is required to enter any Metropark and is only $25 annually for regular admission, $15 annually for seniors, or $5 daily.   

Try these free at Kensington Metropark near Milford/Brighton:

· One free hour of rowboat or paddleboat use for children 17 years and under with an accompanying adult.

· One free ride on the “Island Queen II” pontoon boat for children 17 years and under with one paid adult.

· One free hayride for children 17 years and under, at the Farm Center, with one paid adult.

· One free round of golf per junior golfer, 20 and under, after noon, when accompanied by an adult paying for one round with a cart.

The following event is not free, but is also scheduled for July 17: Kensington Discovery Hike takes place at 2 p.m. at the Nature Center.

Wear your hiking boots and explore some of the less traveled areas of Kensington. For ages 6 and up.
