Haven Hill Festival

The Haven Hill Festival is a celebration of the Highland State Recreation Area, the history of Edsel and Eleanor Ford's Haven Hill estate, and the beauty that is the Haven Hill National Natural Landmark section of the park and it's surrounding lands. And in addition to informative Haven Hill historical displays, the Livingston A's driving club of Model A Ford cars and some antique tractors will be parked in Goose Meadow for you and your family to enjoy. The Greenfield Village Lah-De-Dahs historic base ball team will play the Haven Hill Barn Stormers in an old fashioned game of ball at the Goose Meadow ball field. A self-guided tour will show the original layout of the Haven Hill Lodge on top of Haven Hill, and the Gate House and Edsel Ford Barn will be showcased all day for visitors to see the progress of the renovation efforts that are underway. Both adults and children will enjoy the Festival. There will be live music this year (a five piece brass band!), and things to do and see for all ages. Everyone will enjoy a hot dog, a piece of apple pie, and the historic base ball game at 1:00 pm! Bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit along the ball field and watch the game.

The Festival is free, with food sales as a fund raiser for the Friends of Highland Recreation Area. The event is held the last Saturday in August each year. This year's festival is on August 25 and starts at 10:00 am and goes until 3:00 pm. The historic base ball game starts at 1:00 pm. Access to the park is via the Recreation Passport program on your license plate registration sticker.
