Winter Bliss Festival

Experience all the fun and exciting ways you can make the most of the winter season by attending Kensington Metropark’s Winter Bliss Festival from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29 at Kensington Metropark!

Try a wide variety of winter sports and activities through hands-on clinics and engaging demos, while enjoying the great outdoors with family and friends!

A $2 wristband gives entry to all demonstrations and activities, which will be held at the skating rink located near the boat rental building, the Farm Center and the Nature Center.

Bring your skates and head to the outdoor rink to observe demonstrations and try curling, speedskating and ice hockey. Nearby, try ice fishing, with assistance from park interpreters, anyone 17 and older must have a fishing license.

The Nature Center will feature a variety of winter crafts for children to make and take home, while the Farm Center will offer demos and clinics on cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.

A limited number of cross-country skis and snowshoes will be available. All equipment and supplies are provided by the park and REI.

Free ice harvesting demonstrations will be offered at the Farm Center from 1-3 p.m.

Don’t let the chill of winter get you down! Learn how you can have a blast each time the ice settles in and the snow begins to fall! Great for all ages, this event is a chance to try something new with the guidance of trained professionals, and without the investment of expensive equipment!

All activities will be held snow and ice conditions permitting.

Event fee: $2 wristband (permits entry into all activities and demonstrations) plus daily park entry fee is $5 without an annual Metroparks pass. Pass is $25 ($15 for seniors).
