Woodcock Walk

Indian Springs Metropark Environmental Discovery Center
hosts "Woodcock Walk" at 8 p.m. Friday, May 13.

This rotund shorebird prefers an open habitat with scattered aspen groves as its staging area. The males attempt to impress the ladies by putting on spectacular high-flying displays. Participants must be able to remain absolutely still and quiet, as patience is required to observe these birds.

Open to adults, and children in the second grade and up.

Event Fee is $3 per person plus park entry fee (day passes are $5 if you don't have an annual pass).
