Lakeland Freshman Showing Promise

It’s that time again. Crisp mornings and warm afternoons. Drive by any high school and you’ll see them, in full pads, running, passing, blocking and tackling. The work is hard, the determination is strong and the bond is tight. These are “the boys of fall.” For freshman it is something new, this is high school football, and while some have played for years, for others it is just the beginning. 

Under the direction of head coach, Bob Grawe, the team has worked hard to be game ready. Thursday they took their first bus ride as high school athletes to challenge Holly and Berkley in their pre-season scrimmage games. Lakeland easily dominated both opponents with a quick offense and a crushing defense.
