Lakeland Loses to Walled Lake Central 41-6 on Homecoming

Game played in a steady rain, Homecoming King and Queen announced.

lost to Walled Lake Central 41-6 on Homecoming. 

After a scoreless first quarter, Walled Lake Central scored on the first play of the second quarter. After missing the extra point, Central picked off a Lakeland pass and returned it for a touchdown. 

Chuck Sanders scored Lakeland’s touchdown on an outstanding 35-yard scamper around the left end at the 8:54 mark of the second quarter.

The Eagles trailed 14-6 at the half. 

Seniors Jake Waxman and Julia Attard were crowned King and Queen during the homecoming festivities at halftime.

The Eagle offense moved the ball in the second half but was unable to score. 

Central scored four touchdowns in the second half to win 41-6. 

The Eagles take on Walled Lake Northern next Friday in the Battle of Bogie Lake.
