Lakeland Volleyball Sweeps Walled Lake Northern in District Semi-Final

The Eagles take 3 straight to set up district final against district rival Milford

The volleyball team swept Walled Lake Northern Wednesday evening in the semi-finals of the district tournament. 

The Eagles were lead by senior Ciara Schultz who had 4 aces, 19 digs, 11 kills and 25 assists. Lindsey Hansard chipped in with 3 aces and 14 digs. Mary Armstrong had 1 ace, 6 kills and 3 blocks for Lakeland. 

The Eagles got off to a fast start in game one with a 16-7 lead and never looked back for a 25-12 win. After taking a 21-14 lead in game two, Lakeland closed the game out for a 25-16 win.

Game 3 was close at the outset as Northern held a 14-12 lead. After an Eagle timeout, Lakeland went on a 13-3 run for the 25-17 win to sweep the match. 

Lakeland will take on district rival Milford for the district championship Friday night at 7 p.m. at home. With the win, the Eagles raise their season record to 35-12-1.
