Within the first five minutes, Huron Valley had racked up five points and realized that this was a game to slow down and execute ball control and strategy on the attack. Defensively speaking, it was the team's greatest display of controlled coverage, keeping fouls to a minimum and keeping the goal free of shots.

The shots that did get through were stopped left and right by goalie, Kathleen Kruszewski-MHS Junior, who had her best game on Huron Valley ever! She held a record high of 79% saves. Huron Valley continued to control the ball and dominate the midfield, putting up scores consistently throughout the game with an end score of 13-4.
