Commerce Road to Close June 25
Dates of the road closure in Commerce Township have been released by the Road Commission for Oakland County. Commerce Road will be closed June 25-July 2.
The following is a press release from the Road Commission for Oakland County.
The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Commerce Road between Carroll Lake and Union Lake roads in Commerce Township from Monday, June 25 through Monday July 2 as part of the ongoing reconstruction of the road.
During the closure, the detour route for through traffic will be Union Lake Road to Wise Road to Carroll Lake Road and vice versa.

The closure is needed so waterproofing can be applied to a bridge within the project.
In addition to reconstructing the road surface, the project includes traffic signal upgrades and drainage improvements.

The project is expected to cost $2.6 million, with $1.7 million paid for with federal dollars. The remainder is being shared between the Road Commission and Commerce Twp. The work is being performed by Ajax Paving of Troy.
The project is expected to be completed by Sept. 1.
