Talk About Town: Have Fireworks Become a Nuisance in Your White Lake Neighborhood?

With the new fireworks laws in place, more items, previous not allowed, are being sold in the state. Are fireworks a problem in your neighborhood?

As the Fourth of July creeps closer, more and more weekend nights are filled with the booms of fireworks.

For the first time, several new fireworks are available to residents - fireworks that were previously not allowed in the state.

Several people have already filed complaints about the noise, according to the White Lake Police Department, and officers said they expect many more at July approaches.

Some White Lake Patch readers are upset that fireworks sales have started so early in the township, citing issues with neighbors launching firework late at night and waking their kids, or scaring their dogs.

"We need to stock up on tons of anti-anxiety medication for our poor dog every summer," Sandie Mersman-Weinrauch wrote on the White Lake Patch Facebook page.
