Dairy Queen Helps Raise Funds For Hospitals

A dollar from each Blizzard sold Thursday will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network.

Soft-serve ice cream fans will have a great excuse to eat a Dairy Queen Blizzard on Thursday. A dollar from each of the treats sold will be donated to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals as part of Miracle Treat Day.

Dairy Queen has contributed Blizzard sales for six years to the charity, which raises funds for 170 children's hospitals across the United States and Canada. The Department of Pediatrics at in Royal Oak is the only Level 1 pediatric trauma facility in the Oakland and Macomb counties and serves as the local Children's Miracle Hospital.

"This day of goodwill for children touches all of us in communities throughout the United States and Canada," Dairy Queen spokesman Michael Keller said. "We appreciate everyone who supports Children's Miracle Network Hospitals by participating in Miracle Treat Day."
