Kids Head Back to School and More Things You Should Know This Week

      2. Students in the Huron Valley Schools district resume classes Tuesday, Sept. 3. Click here for 5 key dates to circle on the 2013-2014 school calendar.
      3. The 28th annual Fisk Farm Festival will be held be starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 8, at Fisk Farm, 9180 Highland Road in White Lake. The event will include food, pony rides, music, a bake sale, tours, historical encampments and a display of the Gettysburg battlefield in miniature.
      4. The Huron Valley Optimists will host a golf scramble starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Dunham Hills Golf Course in Hartland. Proceeds will benefit community youth programs.
      5. Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year celebration, begins at sundown Wednesday, Sept. 4, and lasts through the evening of Friday, Sept. 6.
