Meeting About Fracking, Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in White Lake and Highland.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in White Lake and Highland to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

There has been a lot of talk lately about seismic testing and fracking in White Lake and Highland. If you have questions, you can join Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner, Jim Nash on Tuesday, June 25 at 6 p.m. at the Highland Adult Activity Center, 209 N. John Street. Nash will be on hand to answer your questions about any activity happening in your area.

Something for everyone! Furniture, kitchenware, larger-parrot cages, dishes, books, movies, toys, collectibles, religious items, and so much more--all reasonably priced.  Open from 9:30 AM until 4:30 PM for Friday, June 28th and Saturday, June 29th. Proceeds will benefit the Dominican Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

4. Save the date

Join the fun at the Milford High School Campus on Saturday, June 29th from 3pm to fireworks. There will be a farmers market, music, food vendors, Market Ally with crafts, antiques, art and much much more. For the families we have created a "Kid Zone" with activities (Most Free!) for the young and those pretending to be young to enjoy. The Heavner Kid Zone will have games,dog training lessons, pony rides $3, pie eating contests, cake walks, donut eating contest, crafting, magicians, Elvis, The Blues Brothers, photo booth, kites, an obstacle course, a scavenger hunt and The Big Kayak Race at 8 pm! Bring a blanket or a chair, but definitely be there.
