2. For your information

HVS elementary students raised nearly $60,000 for the American Heart Association at the school district's annual Jump Rope for Heart Event. A brief video gives brings you inside this high-energy event.

3. Just for fun

On May 22, Alan Smith Music Jam Session from 7 p.m. to  9 p.m. at the Huron Valley Council for the Arts. Visit www.huronvalleyarts.org for more details.

4. Save the date

  • Michigan's Vanishing Train Stations

On May 22, Michael H. Hodges discusses the train station's architectural evolution and role in American life since 1830, with photographs from Michigan's Historic Railroad Stations, his new coffee-table book. Books will be available to purchase and have signed for $40. Call 248-698-4942, ext. 2 to register or online @ whitelakelibrary.org

5. In case you missed it

A collection bin will be placed in the parking lot of the adult activity center on a trial basis, according to the Observer & Eccentric. Money brought in will be put toward the activity center's programs.
