4. Save the date

On Tuesday, Aug. 13, the team behind The Root Restaurant & Bar, owner Ed Mamou and executive chef James Rigato, will present the Final Movie Event at Howell Theater. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., the event marks the closing of the historic Howell Theater for renovation of the property into The Root Restaurant & Bar: Howell. The evening will feature simultaneous screenings of Back to the Future and The Breakfast Club with special “concessions” prepared by Rigato. Tickets are $30 per person and include a movie and sampling of The Root’s style of cuisine. Tickets must be purchase in person prior to the event at either the Howell Chamber of Commerce (123 E. Washington St.; Howell, Mich.) or The Root Restaurant & Bar (340 Town Center Blvd.; White Lake, Mich.).
