New Flea Market and More This Weekend in the White Lake-Highland Area

1. Flea Market on Cooley Lake Road 

  • When: Friday, July 5 at 10 a.m.
  • Where: 7936 Cooley Lake Rd., Waterford (next to Little Caesar's Pizza)
  • What: This new flea market is held two weekends a month and features collectibles, antiques, hand-crafted items, jewelry and flea market items. Friendly vendors, c
  • rafters, jewelry designs by Shirley, Angie's pet supplies, Lorraine's, Katherine's, Christina's Lana's, Judy't, Larry's, Sherry's and more. Families are welcome and admission is free.

2. "Incredible Insects" Tot Time at Indian Springs Metro Park 

  • When: Saturday, July 6 at 10 a.m.
  • Where: Indian Springs Metro Park, 5200 Indian Trail, White Lake
  • What: What has three body parts, antennae and six legs? Insects of course! Little explorers will get a chance to learn about the bugs around them. For ages 3 to 5 years. Event is held at the Environmental Discovery Center. Cost is $5 per person. Contact: 248-982-7280 for more information.

3. Oakland County Fair

  • When: July 4-14
  • Where: Oakland County Fairgrounds, 12451 Andersonville Rd., Davisburg
  • What: All your traditional fair excitement will be on board: Animals, food, horse shows, carnival rides, a petting zoo, racing pigs, commercial exhibits, 4-H exhibits, and nightly events such as rodeo and demo derby.
