  • Students in the Huron Valley Schools district will have the day off Friday, Oct. 4, for a teacher development day.
  • Karen's School of Dance in Highland will hold its annual costume sale from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4.
  • Harbor High School will sell hand-painted pumpkins starting from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the White Lake Farmers Market at Lakeland High School.
  • Highland Township will hold a fall clean-up along M-59, between Milford Road and Waterbury, beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the vacant HiMill factory Parking lot.
  • The 27th annual Harvest Happening will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Hess-Hathaway Park in Waterford Township. The family-friendly event will feature hay rides, a bake sale, crafters, food, entertainment, pony rides, historical tours and more. 
  • The eighth annual KDB Melanoma 5k Run/Walk will be held Sunday, Oct. 6, at Kensington Metro Park. Registration starts at 9 a.m.; the opening ceremony is at 10:45 a.m.; and the run/walk starts at 11 a.m.
