Both the Lakeland and Milford Snowboard Cross teams are featured in a video about the state championships that took place last week at Alpine Valley in White Lake.

Lakeland Wrestler Advances to Regional Tournament

Lakeland's Tanner Graham’s grappling gains ground.

The following was written by Lori Sokoll. Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Wrestling District Championships were held Saturday at Walled Lake Central High School. Adding to the tough field of wrestlers represented by KLAA schools were teams from Clarkston, Farmington Hills-Harrison, Farmington Hills-North, Farmington, Pontiac and West Bloomfield. Lakeland Captain Tanner Graham continued his remarkable success this season, finishing in second place overall in the 215lb bracket. A first round bye was followed by a victory over North Farmington’s Nate Penny after Graham pinned his opponent fourteen seconds into the first period. Graham battled for the 8-6 semi-final win over Hartland’s Chad Maks who only a week earlier …

Join U.S. Golf Teachers Federation Certified Instructor Al Urpsis and Oakland County Parks Golf Course staff for the five upcoming workshops at White Lake Oaks Golf Course: The classes will take place on Thursdays, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., starting Feb. 7 and running through March 14 at White Lake Oaks Golf Course. Lakeland Wrestlers Earn Hardware

Two wrestlers go undefeated at weekend tournament.

The following was written by Lori Sokoll. For the most dedicated of wrestlers January brings a new focus as the countdown to the Individual State Tournament begins. Every practice is critical, weigh in goals must be met and every match matters. When it comes time for district seedings , it all comes down to wins and losses. Lakeland senior captain, Tanner Graham, 215 pound weight class, has methodically approached his opponents and has shown superior technical ability so far this season. With a current record of 26-5, Graham has himself well positioned as he moves forward toward the ultimate destination: the Palace of Auburn Hills.
