Pedestrian Accident Shuts Down Elizabeth Lake Road in White Lake

A 20-year-old White Lake resident is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a car Monday evening. According to a report filed with the White Lake Police Department, the woman was walking north on Elizabeth Lake Road near Oxbow Lake Road when she was struck by a 2007 Mercury Marquis. The driver of the car, a 79-year-old White Lake man, took off from the scene initially, but returned soon after, according to the report. Lt. Adam Kline said the man told police he thought he hit something but wasn't sure, so he returned to the area to see what was hit, not realizing he hit a person. The woman was transported to Huron Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. Police …
