Charges Pending for Teen Who Ran From Police at Alpine Valley

The following information was supplied by White Lake Township police. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

White Lake Township police say a 16-year-old could face charges of assault, trespassing and possession of marijuana after running from police at Alpine Valley Ski Resort on Feb. 10. According to the report, employees at the popular ski hill in White Lake confronted the teen after he was caught snowboarding without a pass. Employees told police, the report states, that he pushed past workers and took off towards M-59. Police traced the teen to the McDonald's on M-59 near Bogie Lake Road. The report states police found the teen's coat, snow pants and snowboard in a dumpster at the restaurant—but the teen was not there. Commerce Man Facing Larceny Charges After Snowboards Go Missing at Alpine

The following information was supplied by White Lake Township Police. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

A 22-year-old Commerce Township man was arrested Jan. 26 after security at Alpine Valley Ski Area noticed the man taking snowboards from a rack at the ski resort. According to the report, the first incident happened on Jan. 24. The man told White Lake Township police that he took two boards from a ski rack and sold them the next day to Play It Again Sports in Novi. On Jan. 26, the man returned to Alpine and, police said, took two additional snowboards. The report states that Alpine security stopped the man as he was walking away with the last snowboard. Security held the man until police arrived. Once police arrived, the man was arrested and taken to the station. According to the report, during questioning the man told police that he had …

Alpine Valley Ski Resort to Open Wednesday Afternoon

The cold temperatures have allowed the White Lake business to make enough snow to kick off the 2012-2013 ski and snowboard season.

Alpine Valley Ski Resort will open for business Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 3 p.m., according the Alpine Valley website. "Mother Nature has blessed us with the temps we need to get things started for the 2012/2013 season," the site says. "We will be opening Wednesday afternoon 3 p.m. - 10 p.m. with up to twp chairs open (chairs 4 and 5)." Lift tickets will be $20 for opening day. Rentals will also be $20. Alpine Valley Ski Area to Host Midwest’s Largest All Corvette Show

Corvettes America, the premier Corvette Show in Michigan, will be coming to Alpine Valley Ski Area in White Lake Township, from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012.

Corvettes America, celebrating its 12th anniversary this year, draws automotive enthusiasts from across Michigan as well as surrounding states and Canada. It also has national ranking regularly drawing participants from California, Oregon, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and New York State among others.
