If you are one of the many who head out every December to pick out that perfect Douglas fir, you are probably wondering now how to dispose of it. White Lake Township has a few options available. Christmas trees will be picked up on your regular garbage pickup day the first and second weeks after Jan. 1 by Allied Waste. Trees must be free of ornaments, lights and wires, and they must be cut in half. Do not place the trees in bags. All trees will be taken to a compost site. Residents in White Lake may also dispose of their trees through Oakland Country Parks and Recreation.
