Patch Reader Wins an Overnight Stay at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester

"I am so excited to have won! I never win anything," Dana Kaplan of Berkley said. Runner-up Melanie Prapotnik of White Lake won two microdermabrasion treatments from Abassi Dermatololgy in Northville.

 More than 285 photos were entered in Michigan Patch's 2013 "Object of My Affection" contest, but only two readers' names were selected in the drawing for a luxury hotel getaway and a set of spa treatments. The lucky ladies were Dana Kaplan of Berkley, who won an overnight stay at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, and runner-up Melanie Prapotnik of White Lake, who received two microdermabrasion treatments from Northville's newest business, Abassi Dermatololgy. The random drawing was held Thursday, Feb. 14 – Valentine's Day. "I am so excited to have won! 'I Won't Text and Drive Because ...'—Tell Us Why and You Could Win

Tell us why you won't text and drive and you could win some cool prizes, including smart phone with accessories that promote safe use! Patch has partnered with AT&T to raise awareness about distracted driving.

You've no doubt glanced over at a driver next to you and see him texting. AT&T's "It Can Wait" campaign discourages the dangerous behavior. Distracted driving contributed to 5,474 traffic deaths in 2009 nationwide, and 3,986 accidents in Michigan last year. "Our goal is to save lives," AT&T Chairman & CEO Randall Stephenson said in a release. Patch.com in Michigan is partnering with AT&T to raise awareness about distracted driving. Contest: Farmington Hills Man Wins Patch Detroit Zoo Contest

Dennis Hubbard's prize is four tickets to the Detroit Zoo.

The photo caption stated: "I thought it was July 2011, but maybe it was 2011 BC." It was a photo entry of a giganotosaurus on Friday afternoon that was selected as the random winner of Patch's "Share Your Memories of the Detroit Zoo" contest. The winner, Dennis Hubbard, of Farmington Hills entered a picture of a life-like animatronic dinosaur at the popular Dinosauria exhibit at the Detroit Zoo. "Winning these tickets means our family of seven and our good friends, a family of five, will be spending a day at the Detroit Zoo together!" said Hubbard.
