Forecasters say 4 to 7 inches of snow are now possible starting later tonight.

The snow plows have already been out Monday morning around White Lake and Highland.
A "clipper" — known in weather circles as a fast-moving low pressure system out of Canada — will bring at least an inch of snow to White Lake and Highland on Monday. The snow will continue through Tuesday, when up to three additional inches are possible, according to the National Weather Service. Here's the forecast, day-by-day, for the Oakland County area:

The forecasting agency issued a hazardous weather outlook Friday for portions of southeast Michigan, including Oakland County, that called for winds gusting up to 45 miles per hour through Friday evening. Expect lows to dip to the 30s and 40s this weekend in White Lake and Highland, despite warm mid-week temperatures. Snow is possible on Monday.
Well, it was nice while it lasted. The blast of 70-plus-degree summer temperatures this week in Metro Detroit are on their way out, according to the National Weather Service. A cold front is headed into the area and expected to drop temperatures to as low as 32 degrees in areas including White Lake and Highland. Here's what the forecast looks like for the weekend, according to the NWS: Bad news: Snow is possible on Monday, according to the NWS, as temperatures are expected to fall to 44 during the day and 32 in the evening.

Temperatures will dip down into the 30s across southeast Michigan Sunday night and into Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
An "unseasonably cold air mass" is settling over the area, warns the National Weather Service, and it could result in areas of frost after midnight and into Monday morning in White Lake and Highland. A frost advisory is in effect from 2-8 a.m. Monday. Temperatures will fall into the 30s tonight across the majority of southeastern Michigan as a clearing sky and light wind combine with the cold air, and "areas of frost (are) possible well after midnight." Temperatures will still be in the low 40s at the bus stop, too, so don't forget to bundle up the kids before you send them off to school. The National Weather Service also warns that sensitive vegetation could be damaged or killed if left uncovered tonight.

Strong thunderstorms that could bring wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour, hail up to 1 inch in diameter and localized flooding are possible Thursday afternoon and evening in Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties.
The National Weather Service has declared a hazardous weather outlook Thursday for portions of southeast Michigan, including Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties. The agency predicts a high of 85 degrees with an 80 percent chance of precipitation Thursday; thunderstorms are expected during the afternoon, into the evening and overnight. "These storms may become severe during the afternoon and evening," according to the forecasting agency. "The biggest threat from these storms will be damaging wind gusts to 60 mph and hail to one inch in diameter. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for southeastern Michigan Tuesday, as temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees during the afternoon. It's not expected to be excessively humid, but dew points in the mid-60s could make it feel like it's anywhere from 102 to 107 degrees outside. The good news is there's a cold front coming in that should provide some relief from what NWS calls "dangerous heat" for the rest of the week. However, the excessive heat watch remains in effect all day Tuesday and NWS recommends that people drink plenty of fluids, stay in air conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.
