Highland-White Lake Business Association Collecting Food

Area businesses are drop off spots for the 2012 Highland-White Lake Business Association Red Box Food Drive.

The Highland-White Lake Business Association, in partnership with several local businesses, is collecting food for Highland Goodfellows, Community Sharing and Open Door Outreach Center. All donations will help those in the White Lake-Highland area in need of assistance during the holiday season. The following businesses are drop off locations in White Lake and Highland:

Highland to Hold Business Assistance Team Workshop Wednesday

Businesses from White Lake and Highland are invited to attend the Business Assistance Team workshop at the Highland Township Library on Wednesday.

The Highland DDA along with Highland-White Lake Business Association invites Highland Businesses and Highland-White Lake Business Association members to Highland's first Business Assistance Team (BAT) Workshop! There is no fee for this workshop, and it will take place at the Highland Public Library on Oct. 3 from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.    The goal of the BAT team is to provide knowledge, guidance and useful tools for businesses in order to maintain and grow their businesses. The types of assistance the team can offer include: The BAT team consists of representation from the Oakland County Business Center, Main Street Oakland County, S.C.O.R.E (Service Corps of Retired Executives) and financial representation, as well as the Highland White …

Flowers of the Lakes Celebrates Ribbon Cutting With Highland-White Lake Business Association

Residents and members of the Highland-White Lake Business Association gather at the new Flowers of the Lake location Wednesday to celebrate the store's opening.

It was standing room only inside the new Flowers of the Lakes location Wednesday morning as residents and members of the local business association gathered for the store's ribbon cutting ceremony. Flowers of the Lakes moved into the new location, across from Village Lakes Plaza at 10790 Highland Road, in early June. Owner Orv Borg, who's been in the flower business for 23 years, said the response has been overwhelming. "We've had a really positive response to the new location," Borg said. "People have been coming in and telling us how much they love it." Borg said the building is in the perfect location now, on the right side of the road for those on their way home.
