The Michigan Attorney General announced charges filed against 43-year old Raulie Casteel of Wixom Dec. 21.
The 43-year-old Wixom man accused of shooting at cars along the I-96 corridor has entered a not guilty plea to additional terrorism charges in Livingston County's 53rd District Court in Howell, according to WDIV-TV, Channel 4. In addition to the terrorism charge, Raulie Casteel pleaded not guilty to charges of assault with intent to murder and felony firearm in Livingston County's 53rd District Court on Friday. The first two charges are punishable by up to life in prison, while the firearm charges range from punishments of 2 to 5 years in prison. The 43-year-old Wixom man accused of shooting at cars along the I-96 corridor will face seven felony charges, according to Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette. Raulie Casteel faces charges of felony terrorism, assault with intent to murder and felony firearm in Livingston County's 53rd District Court on Friday. 43-year-old Raulie Casteel is charged with multiple felonious counts related to shootings spanning four counties.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced Tuesday that his office will lead the prosecution of I-96 shooting suspect, 43-year-old Raulie Casteel, of Wixom, for crimes police say he committed in three counties. The case assignment to the AG's Criminal Division came at the request of of Livingston County Prosecutor David Morse, Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III and Shiawassee County Prosecutor Randy Colbry. Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper will continue to handle the case filed in that county. "I believe it is beneficial for the prosecution of this case and for the convenience of the witnesses to have a single source of prosecution," Morse said in a press release. The 43-year-old Wixom man will be arraigned in the 53rd District Court in Howell.
The 43-year-old Wixom man arrested in relation to the I-96 Corridor Shootings is set to be arraigned in the 53rd District Court in Howell on charges stemming from crimes committed in Livingston County, according to a press release. Three of the 24 shootings happened in Livingston County. Take a look at our interactive map to see where all of the shootings occurred. The exact time of the arraignment has not been determined, according to police. Other Prosecuting Attorneys are reviewing the individual cases in their jurisdictions and more charges are expected later this week.
