The Metroparks Cardboard Classic at Indian Springs Metropark takes place Sunday, Feb. 10.
What can you create with a few pieces of cardboard, some tape, paint and glue? Make the fastest and most imaginative two-person sled to compete in the Metroparks Cardboard Classic at Indian Springs Metropark on Sunday, February 10. Children and adults are challenged to create a two-person sled to race down the park’s sledding hill. Fun prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place winners for fastest and most creative sleds. Registration and creative judging begins at 10:30 am; races start at noon. Throughout the month of November, Indian Springs Metropark will host the artwork of award-winning, Michigan-based photographer Bob Guiliani. On display at the park’s Visitors Center, Guiliani’s collection features images taken in Michigan, Alaska, Ireland and Italy, and includes a variety of images ranging from intricate close-ups to expansive panoramas. An artist reception will take place at the Visitor Center on Friday, November 2 from 5 pm to 8 pm, when Guiliani will be on hand to speak with visitors and sign copies of his book, Gallery Plus.
