It didn't have the pomp and circumstance of the Presidential Inauguration, but the Oakland County Commissioners recently also took the oaths of office in a smaller ceremony to start 2013. Oakland County Chief Circuit Court Judge Nanci Grant administered the oath in the commission chambers in Pontiac. Also present was former commissioner David Potts, of Birmingham, who was recently appointed to the County’s Zoological Authority for 2013. Oakland County Commissioner Jim Runestad (R) said he and his fellow committee members in White Lake need help from the public to organize this year's White Lake Tree Lighting event. "It's a big event for the community," he said. "The number of residents who attend grows each year, and we had more than 2,000 people come last year. We need the public's help to keep the event going." Runestad said he needs people with graphic design skills, people to sell sponsorships to businesses, people to help set up the area in the days leading up to the event and people to help decorate the tree. "We want to make this the best event and make sure we have the crafts, reindeer, ice sculptures and entertainment that people expect," he said. The event is …
