JoAnn Fabric Grand Opening Event Starts Thursday

Great deals, coupons and kids' crafts planned to celebrate White Lake store opening.

The new White Lake JoAnn Fabric is celebrating with a grand opening event Aug. 9 through Aug. 11. Starting Thursday, the store will be giving away a number of items including: On Saturday, kids can make crafts to take home from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The store is also offering a 50 percent off one item coupon. The store is open Sundays from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

JoAnn Fabric to Open Friday

It's the moment many White Lake area residents have been waiting for, by the end of the week JoAnn Fabric will be open for shopping.

The White Lake JoAnn Fabric is set to officially open Friday, joining Bed, Bath & Beyond in the former Farmer Jack space. For months residents have been patiently awaiting the opening of the store. In addition to the opening, a grand opening event for both JoAnn Fabric and Bed, Bath & Beyond is expected in early August. The store will be open Sundays from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. A 20 percent off coupon is available on the JoAnn Fabric website, and good through July 28. JoAnn Fabric, Bed, Bath & Beyond to Open Soon

Signs are now up at both stores, and employees are being hired in preparation for the grand openings.

The grand opening of Bed, Bath & Beyond and JoAnn Fabric is inching closer, and the construction of the retail space off M-59 near Fisk Road is nearly complete. According to Township Planning Director Sean O'Neil, the stores are still set to open in the next few months. Bed, Bath & Beyond has an opening date of June 19; and JoAnn Fabric is planning to have a soft opening on July 27, followed by a grand opening Aug. 9. Signs Go Up For Bed, Bath & Beyond

Construction continues on the new retailer set to open in White Lake in June.

The grand opening of Bed, Bath & Beyond and JoAnn Fabric is inching closer, and the construction of the retail space off M-59 near Fisk Road is chugging along. Over the weekend the storefront signs for Bed, Bath & Beyond were installed. There is no word yet on when the JoAnn Fabric sign will go up, but both stores are still expected to open in June. Bed Bath & Beyond, JoAnn Fabrics to Open in June

Developers are telling the township to expect a June opening, not an early spring opening as initially planned.

Progress is being made at the former Farmer Jack site off M-59 near Fisk Road. Construction began last month, to transform the space into two new retailers for White Lake - a Bed Bath & Beyond, and a JoAnn Fabrics. Initially, when the news was announced in July 2011, the stores officials were hoping for an early spring opening for this year. That has since changed and Township Planning Director Sean O'Neil said the developers are now eyeing an early June opening, "Both stores are working within the same time frame for construction right now, but it's unclear if they will open on the same day," he said. "We are incredibly excited to have that vacant building filled with two well-known and popular businesses," O'Neil told White Lake Patch …

While new store openings are always welcome in the community, it's sad that these stores are being built with out of town tradesmen. With all the local unemployment, why do they feel the need to hire a general contractor from Indianapolis? An electrical contractor from Saginaw? I won't shop there for that reason.   more ›
