Michael Leitheim, the JV girls basketball coach at Lakeland, celebrated his 100th win Friday.
On Friday, the JV coach, Michael Leitheim, recorded his 100th win as that level with the Lakeland program. The Lady Eagles defeated Walled Lake Northern, 34-22. Leitheim is in his 8th year as the JV coach. He also is a 1997 graduate of Lakeland. (Source: Mike Head)
Senior Troy Baerston paced the Eagles with 16 points in the win.
Lakeland shut down Waterford Kettering 54-43 in KLAA action Tuesday evening. Senior guard Troy Baerston paced the Eagles with a game high 16 points. He played a solid floor game. Sophomore Nick Troxell was steady in the lane and on the boards for the Eagles. He finished with 12 points. The first quarter was tight throughout with Lakeland holding an 8-7 lead at the end of the first 8 minutes. The Eagles broke the game open with a 21-11 run in the second quarter to take a 29-18 lead into the locker room. Baerston hit two 3-pointers from beyond the arc to lead the run.
